During the excursion tourists will see the Berlin cathedral (Berliner Dom) which is the largest protestant church of Germany. The Cathedral is located at the Museum island of Berlin. In 1701 Berlin became the capital of Prussia and the capital of the united Germany in 1871. Tourists will see Gendarmenplatz, Unter den Linden avenue, reminding of Champs Elysees of Paris, Frauenkirche, Opernhaus, Brandenburger tor, Rote rathaus in Alexanderplatz, Reichstag, the historical parliament of Germany, Bellevue palace. Part of the Wilhelmskirche in Breitscheidplatz was left ruined to remind of the WWII severe bombardments of Berlin. In the eastern part of Berlin we will see the Treptov park with a memorial cemetry devoted to the Soviet soldiers who died at the Berlin battle in May 1945.
The largest Berlin park Tiergarten (210 hectars) was founded in the 15th century with many historical monuments and attractions. There are plenty of museums and galleries in Berlin, tourists can visit in the leasure time, the most popular museums are located in the Museum island, as Bode, Old national gallery, Pergamonmuseum, Egypt museum, Kulturforum, Dahlem ethnological museum etc.
