Kutna Hora and Cesky Sternberk

Kutna Hora with a visit to the chapel of Corpus Christi from the14th century. When the construction of the cemetery chapel began it served as an ossuary. After the Hussite wars human remains and bones from abandoned cemeteries were kept in the ossuary. In 1870 Frantisek Rint made the interior of the church out of human bones. Bones of 40,000 people became material for artistic creation, serving the idea of the frailty of a human life. Bones form various signs and symbols. During your excursion you will see the Cistercian Monastery and Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and visit the Church of St. Barbara in Kutna Hora, the Gothic fountain and the Stone house, the Marian column and see the Jesuit college near the Charles Bridge similarity with 13 statues of saints. On the road tourists will have the opportunity to visit the 13th century Gothic castle with a a guided tour of the rich collection of weapons, furniture and interiors of the 18th century. The castle was received in restitution by the heir of the Sternberg family- Zdenek Sternberg, who was a caretaker and manager of the castle during the communist regime in Czechoslovakia
