William Shakespeare was on a secret mission in Prague and Jordano Bruno hid in Prague from the Sacred Inquisition. If a suspect admitted guilty in commiting any crime it was not enough for the inqusition and the suspect was tortured to squeeze confession in accusing other people. In European cities nice grils and women in many cases were considered as witches and undewent auto de fe. Executioners put cages with women into water within half an hour. If the woman survives then she was considered a witch to be burnt at the stake. If the woman drowned she was pardoned of all accusations in witchcraft.
