The history of absinthe is a coctail of myth, controversy and conjecture. A favourite drink of poets and actors at the break of the 20th century the absinthe was banned in the USA in 1912 as considered a hallucinogenic one. Only several years ago the absinthe was legalised in the USA, the anise flavored liquor. The key ingredient of the liquor is wormwood. The traditional preparation is to slow drip water through a sugar cube and into the spirit which becomes cloudy (louche). Also you can use a small quantity of absinthe to add a floral, bittersweet quality to any cocktail.
